Laura and I are thanking the
Lord that He has led us to a place to celebrate. Yesterday we e-published a
book on discipleship/disciple-making titled
Simply
Disciples*Making Disciples. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B011WJIDQA?*Version*=1&*entries*=0
This has been
a 40-year journey for me, and Laura has shared some very intense roads along
this way. Her faith as a disciple has made this past stretch not only
endurable, but something we could learn and grow through. The Lord has led us
in a very unique way, and every place he has had us stop has been a place to
teach us something that has made this book possible.
The teacher and travel
director has been the Lord. What lessons we have learned and miracles we have
seen, and the point of this book, is that the Father will be glorified, that
the Lord will have more disciples who learn from Him and make more disciples,
and that the Spirit will work with better soil. And too, the harvest might get
a new crop of workers.
So, we want to share the
celebration with you. We have many people to thank who have worked hard and
keep on trying to be disciples working in the harvest and making disciples.
This book is for them too. For those who have been in the groups at Faith
Bible, we owe them and the leaders of Faith, a great "thank you" for
taking us in on such short notice and allowing us to try this stuff out. These
groups have added a lot to what we have written.
You might also be curious to
find out what I’ve been talking about for the past 10 years. I know - I haven’t
always known either. And then there is the thing about the Reading Notes. What
are they and how do they fit into whatever it is I’ve been talking about? Well,
the whole model is here and everything is explained in its place.
When I published my first
book, I asked people to review it. No one did. That's fine. But this book
means something entirely different. And I really think it is something that I
need and you need. It is a short book so please read it. You may be glad you
did. If you like it, write a review, but more importantly, recommend it to
someone you know. Especially people in ministry might be interested in a very
simple definition and model to make disciple-making a reality in their group or
church.
The Lord takes care of us
(ravens and other miracles) so we are not interested in driving up the sales of
the book to become millionaires. We really think the book has a few valuable
thoughts to contribute to the discipleship conversation that is going on, and
therefore, we would like to see it read and be helpful to pastors, staff,
elders and believers in general who will benefit from the simplicity of what is
written here. And again, it might be something you or someone you know has been
looking for.
In Christ,
Dan and Laura
